PAUL'S SHOES BOOK

This book is about perspective: Before the pandemic our perspective was exercising the fullness of the ministry given to us. Covid-19 changed all of that. Our mission has not changed in exercising some or parts of what we were called to do. We just have to do it in a different manner and at a distance. Paul’s Shoes looks at how one house arrest for Paul like one virus for us has changed our perspective on how we live, connect and move forward in the will of God.

POWERFUL PERSPECTIVES

Experience First Three Chapters

“I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called.” Ephesians 4:1

Many of us have heard someone praying for the preacher or minister that is about to rise to their feet and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ at a Sunday service, Revival, Convocation, Convention or Conference and other church gatherings.

There are times when the person who brings forth the introduction of the minister asks the Lord to be with them as they stand in Johns’ shoes. I know that I’ve prayed that for others and they have prayed that for me before I rose to bring a Word from the Lord, and I prayed that the Lord would use me to walk through what He had given me to preach.

“Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:” Philippians 5:2

What in the world would make us think we had things in common with the Apostle Paul? To find that answer we don’t have to look very far. In the very first chapter and first two verses of Ephesians Paul made his position known to the people of Ephesus “I Paul, an Apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the Faithful in Christ Jesus: Grace be to you, and peace from God our father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.” The parallel being that there are those who are not Apostles, but we are disciples of the Lord and it is because of His faithfulness that we’re alive.

There’s a song called “He’s been so faithful” the lyrics state: “When I look back over my life, I can see how your Love has guided me. Even though I’ve done wrong you never left me alone, but you forgave me and he kept on blessing. This I recall, to my mind therefore I have hope, it’s because of your mercy that we are not consumed. Because thy compassions fail not, they are new every morning. Great is thy Faithfulness.” That’s the parallel of faithfulness that keeps us alive.

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28

From the Moment that Saul was struck by blinding light, knocked to the ground and heard the question, “Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?” and Saul answered in one word “Lord?”. Here is the response, “And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks”.

At that moment, Sauls’ purpose in life changed from physical and spiritual blindness to eventual physical and spiritual sight. His purpose took a one hundred eighty degree turn, because Saul’s foot was on the gas and he was going 100 miles an hour toward his sole mission of persecuting Christians, to being one of Gods most staunch advocates and prolific writers and teachers of the Word of God. Which brings us to how we perfect the purpose God has given us during a time such as this!
